:iconhetherev: Story -v
The sword's steely surface obscured as blood webbed its way down the blade. Freshly seeping from a wound as the worm contorted it's body all the way out of the sand. The wound was terrible to be sure, but in relation to the worm's sheer size it was a mere blemish. The worm had plenty more segments attached to a huge drooling maw. Like fingers it pricked it's fangs over the sand. Kristin moved back slowly as it neared her feet. So badly did she want to run but she'd observed before the locked gates surrounding the arena. And running around in a circle would only entice the worm to think of her as prey. So she stood. And the worm came to coil loosely around her. As it's body drew nearer she spied the sword sliding past. The worm looked away and Kristin took her chance to grab it, but failed to notice the tail's head catch her in the act. It screeched and the larger head shot 'round on the fisrt note. It clipped Kristin's leg but she held on.
Clinging to it's carapace she tried to draw out the sword again. It budged slightly spurting more blood and throwing the worm into a frenzy. The contorting body quickly threw Kristin. Reaching out her arms she grasped the beast's mane. Six beady eyes locked to her pale paniced face. Kristin couldn't look at them, just one of those eyes broke every nerve in her body. And distraced by them she didn't realize she'd let go. Then her body met not sand, but a fleshy soft pallette. When the four fingered maw closed around her.

The Collisium Dierector probably looked bored, with another fighter being swallowed alive. Kristin could only guess being she couldn't see him here in the worm's throat... and nobody could see her. Flooded with a sudden resiliance, Kristin realized she'd been relieved by hundred eyes and was watched now by none.

Only moments after the worm had swallowed and it was gagging. Spattering the arena floor with saliva as it writhed. Finally coughing up the irritation, gold? No it wasn't gold, the Dierector took another look. It was a creature! Unsheathing herself from the worm's mouth Christmas turned and clung to it's face. Held by her claws the worm was forced to look now into Christmas's eyes before she let loose a deafeningly long squawk over her twisting two tongues. The worm dropped to the ground and all was speechless watching the creature that felled it.
Christmas stern gaze was on the sword again and the scarf tied 'round it's handle. She watched it dance as the wind picked up. Flashing the same orange and red gradient as the scarf she suddenly found Kristmas wearing upon arrival. The sunset color... no. As Christmas took hold and finally dislodged the sword from it's battered resting place she saw this dancing color mimiced not the sky, but that of a Burning Flame.

Is that... detail, I see there?
YES.
This is probably one of my favorite parts so far, and I actually managed to paint it via my digital apparatus! X3
And look Christmas finally made her appearance! Not the most glamorous, crawiling out of a worm's mouth and all, but she sure stunned the crowd. And saliva only makes her coat shine~*
